Do ipad camera connection kits work with MIDI interfaces?

I've been looking at a few of those ipad connection kit adapters (Apple's as well as the knock offs) and I'm wondering if they'll work with those USB-MIDI interfaces? Can anyone confirm that this works? I know some of these won't work because some usb devices draw too much power. If it did work for you, mind telling me what you used? Any recommendations most welcomed and appreciated.

EDIT: Also, what about latency? Is it better to get a dedicated MIDI connector instead?

Got a few iPad synths (Sunrizer, iMS20) that I'd really love to play using an external keyboard (that only have 5-pin DINs), while retaining the USB port of the Camera Connection Kit.

Hi,
I spent about 7 EUR for an USB to MIDI cable to connect it to Apples camera connection kit and it works fine with my other MIDI devices. I also had the AKAI LPK25 usb keyboard connected to the kit and it worked without issues. A few weeks later I sold the LPK25 since I dont liked the keys at all and now I have an M-Audio Keystation Mini 32 which I use when I go on vacation or out of home for longer time.
I cant tell much about the latency since it depends also from the App itself, but until now nothing seemed to be very excessive or noticeable to me. If you have the camera kit, this USB to MIDI cable seems for me the best option.
