Using a MicroKey 61 to control the R3?

Does anyone know if it is possible to control the R3 using a korg MicroKey? (and if so what kind of cable I would need?) It'd be nice to have the additional two octaves. The MicroKey uses USB power though, and I'm not sure if the R3 would be able to power the Microkey.

I'm also interested in using the Microkey to control a Microkorg, but I figured I'd just ask on the R3 forum because there's no subforum for the Microkey controller.

If anyone has any experience or advise it would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

No, it's not possible. The Microkey requires iOS, Windows, or MacOSx with drivers for the computer to be a USB host. The R3 and Microkorg can't use USB midi controllers.

Rock those octave keys! If that's a non-solution for you, my suggestion would be another synth or MIDI controller. Get one with aftertouch, since R3 can use it as a virtual patch source (MIDI3 by default) so it's def worth having if you can get it!

Would it be possible to do this using a computer (with some kind of MIDI software) as an intermediary?

I'm a bit too unemployed at the moment to be buying a second MIDI controller.
