Korg pa3 Battery discharging ?

Helo guys, I have a general question about battery, I hope it is not dying on me ..
When I first bought the pa3x - 76, the battery status indicated 113 hours, or something around that anyway, it was just about full, this was about 1 month ago, now it indicates 73 hours, about 3 quarters full .. should I be worried?
I will mention that the keyboard was second-hand, the battery was changed as korg requested, I have the sticker at the back of the keyboard with the battery on it.
Also, when I shut down the keyboard, I only shut it down from the standby button, and not from the back power button also.
Should I turn it off completely from the back power button as well, is this the reason it is discharging, or is this normal??
Thanks in advance !

This whole "battery" thing on the PA3X is weird and frustrating to say the least.
My PA3X has done much the same as yours but I found that when the main power had been off for a while it recharged and came up with new better "hours remaining". I just don't think the internal power monitor is reliable/stable - just my feelings.
Cheers

My main worry is not to die completely eventually, then me having to go through the process of changing it, as I understand, that process is not a pretty one either.
But I will try what you suggested and turning it off completely from the main power button as well, and hopefully, I will see better results then ... fingers crossed.

Remember that the battery is only for fast loading of PCM user sounds. If, like me, you have no sampled sounds the battery makes no difference at all. Also the unit works fine without the battery whether you have user PCM or not. You just will have to wait a little longer for start up if you do.

alex.alexutz89 Try wipe button for system to re-estimate battery capacity !
Also all of you read a few tips for good standing Pa3X rechargeable batteries !
- The average number of charging-recharging circles are 400 for this kind of package.
- Every time you unplug your Pa3X (or turn off power switch) from power supply you waste 1 circle of battery life ,
since partial discharging for NiΜH is similar to full discharging !
Conclusion , if you turn of power supply of Pa3X every day after usage then your battery life will last
up to 1,5 year the most !
- If your set is under custom samples , then try not to unplug power supply , in order battery will be in st-by mode ,
saving battery life for 2 extra years !
- If you do not use custom samples , it's better to unplug battery package (charged) ,in order to save battery life
for the time you will really need it !

Thanks for the info and advice guys, I already wiped the battery, it was full and came back down to about 80 hours, but I will see what kind of progress shows from now on and will let you guys know as well ..

I'm not sure I ever understood the "battery" in the PA3x.
I hadn't used my keyboard in about a month. When I turned it on the other day, I found I lost the half dozen performances that I saved. Does anyone know if this is normal or a "malfunction?"
Now about the drill for turning the unit on and off? What is happening with the battery in each step of running the keyboard? When you turn the keyboard off (power off.....unplug it?) then it goes into discharge? When you turn it on, it starts the charge process? etc, etc.
What do you actually do when you're not playing the keyboard, but it sits in the same place every day? Leave it on.......with the red light on?
This battery thing is simple but it's something I can't seem to understand.........I seem to have a mental block over it.

That's what I did, and everything works the same but the loading time is longer.
I did it not to save the battery but my Pa3x, I just was not completely sure the battery would not blow up.
(there were a few reports on that last year)
I also haven't experienced any problems with corrupted data or sound so far.
For me the battery pack is just an option I don't need.
regards,
Michal

Totally agree, Marcus. I don't even own a 3X, but I read all the posts anyway. Korg has to find a better way. We're supposed to enjoy these machines without having all the background niggles and frustrations.

If its the date stamp on files or system date you are losing then its not the large PCM battery at fault - its the small button battery (CR2032) that is dead.

Which means in a gigging PA3x you need to replace it every year.... Which is totally unacceptable .... There are a plethora of technollogies in todays mobile electronics market that would have prevented this problem... There for its certainly a design flaw...

It's not so tragic ! when I say one circle is lost , I mean for plenty of hours , for instance I unplug power for an hour every day
as long as my gig or studio distance will be , for almost 3 years , and battery's condition is fine !
Also Ram method that Korg uses is the ideal one for zero latency of user samples , and is just the same method that
a PC uses , the difference is that it's not required to preserve PC Ram state cause in that case you could had the same
battery issue with your PC and also Pa bus is too slow to charge Ram quickly during booting !
The wrong path of KorgPa was to use NiMH batteries instead of Lithium , and the right future integration of next Pa flagship
is to use Direct From Disk sampler method to justify the proper use of Ram, using today's chipset and CPU to gain
speed and avoid fast booting Ram ST-By batteries !
