I am trying to get a minimal setup done with my Macbook Pro running Omnisphere and the R3. I want to pipe the un-effected audio from the MBP through the R3- which I can do. I have it set to pass thru the audio- but the R3 still does it's effects on the input. Is there a way to force it to really pass thru with no added effects. Ideally, I would like to freely use the R3 sounds when needed to enhance what I am doing in Omnisphere. Another issue I found is that there is no way for me to cut the volume of the R3 without taking down the input volume as I need to play Omni on its own at times. Is there a way to change one of the knobs globally to turn the volume of the internal synth down leaving the input pass through at full volume?
I am thinking not and haven't figured it out via the manual.

I am thinking my issue may be that even though I switch audio pass thru on (shift-vocoder), I have to do a global change so that input 1 and 2 are pass through to the outputs- I bet one of the inputs is hitting the effects engine.
Also, has anyone used the R3 as an effects unit alone to process external signals. I would love to be able to do a few presets with a ring mod or stereo delay (to mimic external gear) and run my Omnisphere through that.
Likely I am just talking to myself and will solve everything on my own haha- so posted here in case someone has the same questions down the road.

Are you sure you're not turning the vocoder on by mistake or doing this using one of the preset vocoder patches? If you hold Shift and press Audio In Thru button, you should get a completely dry signal as long as the vocoder feature isn't turned on. It works for me, so there might be a step you're messing up on.
"Is there a way to change one of the knobs globally to turn the volume of the internal synth down leaving the input pass through at full volume?"
To do this, hold Shift then press Knob Assign button. From there, you'll be able to scroll through which parameters you want set for each knob. Set one to Level, then press the Knob Assign button again and then Write the patch to make it permanent.

For this, Initialize a patch, set OSC 1 to Audio In, then just tape down any one key on the keyboard. The audio signal can be processed by the filter plus all three effects. You can also do the same for Timbre 2 to add two more effects.
