My pa600 arrived today..set it up...great styles and stuff BUT...the piano sounds...terrible..been through all of them..not one even sounds like a piano all the way from bass to top..I've even tweaked some of them with the sound adjustment controls but can't get a decent sound...use piano 75% of my playing..
Also far too much sustain at bass end with damper pedal down..goes on far too long..
Everything else OK...but can't live with that piano..
Anyone know what's wrong..or how to improve it..
My old Yamaha PSR is miles better and realistic..
Sorry to say...The Korgs going back if I can't improve that piano...

See if altering the EQ settings will improve things for you. It's all in the manual.

Getting a new piano sound is sometimes like getting a new bed. It takes some time to get used to. I think it has the same sound engine as my Pa3x and I didn't like the sounds at first. I felt they were mainly lacking in the brighter piano sounds so I created some new ones in Sound mode and I'm now very happy with them. You are welcome to try these if you like:

There are 3 pianos plus one guitar in this set. They don't use any Ram just tweaking of existing samples.
I now find the Yamaha sounds rather sterile compared to the earthier Korg pianos. Its definitely a matter of taste but just give it some time for your ear to adjust before jumping ship.
