Kontrol 49 misbehaving! Please help!

I implore you, please, can somebody help me?

I am very familiar with the Kontrol 49, how it works, and how it integrates with my software. I have been using it on and off for 9 years.

Now I have a new computer running Windows 7 64bit and I can't seem to get the usb midi functionality up and running.

Consequently, the Editor Librarian won't work (It was giving me timeout errors when plugged into midi) and its integration with Reason is non-existent. At one point I was able to receive midi from Reason (when plugged in as midi, not as usb), but I was not able to send anything but note information. All of the faders and knobs where no longer working, but the screens told me when I changed stuff on the computer. The "HEX LOCK" button was lit, and so was pad 1. I could not unlock.

I have installed, reinstalled, uninstalled, and again reinstalled the drivers, in any number of orders. Midi-OX, my midi troubleshooting tool does not see the Kontrol49. My computer sees it, and says that the drivers are installed and working, but no midi program will honor its presence.

Where have I misstepped? What may I try to fix this? I will gladly post any logs or debug files that I may to help relieve this trouble.

Please help,
Evan

There is an important difference between installing and uninstalling the Korg USB-midi driver vs. installing and removing Korg USB-midi devices into the driver.

Run the "Uninstall Korg USB-midi device" program in the USB-midi driver folder. It will show you all of the midi drivers loading, Korg and non-Korg. Check the checkbox that allows you to remove non-Korg drivers that you aren't using or that aren't working. You must have some cleared drivers between midi0 and midi9. Then run the "Install Korg USB-midi device program to add the Kontrol49 device to the driver. Run the Uninstall device program again to confirm that it was loaded between 0-9, but don't remove it.

Run the Configure USB-midi driver program to see if the Kontrol49 now appears in the list when you press the Device List... button.

Now see if the editor/librarian works ok, then if it does, close the editor and try any other software that should see the controller, like MIDI-OX.
