FYI, the new version of Logic was released today, and it is 64 bit only - no more 32 bit audio bridge. So, the Kronos AU plugin, which is 32 bit, won't work any more inside Logic.

It also requires the latest OS. So, Karma software got upgraded just in time.

An upgrade price would be nice. But considering something like a Cubase upgrade is $150+ it is in the same ballpark.

A real shame the Kronos plugin wont work, but we just join the club of other full 64bit DAWs that couldn't.

The upgrade price used to be more than this full price. Digital Performer's upgrade cost is $195. Don't get hung up on the full version/upgrade name. It's a great deal, and has lots of new features. I'm loving it!

you have got it all wrong the full product cost use to be $499 and $199 for the upgrade this now even includes the jam packs which you use to buy as extras go back a few years and see what the full product use to cost this is ridiculously cheap

you have got it all wrong the full product cost use to be $499 and $199 for the upgrade this now even includes the jam packs which you use to buy as extras go back a few years and see what the full product use to cost this is ridiculously cheap

Seriously, the point is they are charging new buyers and existing owners the same price. This is not the usual practice for audio software.

I do appreciate that they dropped the original price but this is an upgrade for me and I'd expect some appreciation from them. Its not like they are short on cash.

Apple has changed their pricing methods for the professional software, and in the aggregate I believe that the cost is still lower to the consumer. It used to be that they charged a very high initial price, and then lower prices for upgrades. For instance, FCP and Logic Studio were both $1,000. (In the case of Logic, instruments such as EXs24 used to be quite pricey add-ons, $400 or $500 each if memory serves.) Version upgrades would then be a couple of hundred bucks. Now, they just charge the upgrade price regardless of whether you're buying it for the first time or as an upgrade to a prior version. Users of prior versions may not feel like they're getting a special deal, but they aren't paying any more for the upgrade than they would have in the past.
