I’m currently looking for a good UPS to use when I play out and was wondering if they make something that also incorporates a good power conditioner. Right now I’m using a Furman PL-Plus DMC. Does someone make a UPS that also incorporates what I have in the Furman, or would it be better to keep both? I’m looking to spend around $200, but would be willing to spend more if I could replace the Furman. I don’t need the UPS to keep my equipment powered on for more than a few min. If the power is off for more than a few min it will affect everyone in the band not just my Kronos. I would prefer something with an LED with power info at a glance.

Most UPSes I've used (in computer technology - APC, Poweram) have kind of "power conditioning", I do not know UPS that does not, but Furman seems to be dedicated for stage/sound applications and boasts with some advanced features that may be useful for sound tech and not for computers. If this is important for you, stick to Furman. For picking right UPS with needed backup time you also need to know how much (watts) you consume.

In EU we could get 300W 1U-rack APC ups for about 200€ that gives my stage key rig 10 min backup time. In US you probably get better deals

The Kronos only uses 65 Watts. I have a 90 euro APC that keeps it and my mixer and my Ventilator running for half an hour or so.

I also have a < 100 $ UPS which works fine (cannot remember the exact type; European one though). I use it for the Kronos and one monitor, so I can setup/check most of my setup even when there is no power on stage yet.

I have always used APC UPS's and never had a problem. I currently use the 1500 VA Green Battery Back-UPS Pro (model BR1500G). It's in your $200 price range and is more than enough to power Kronos and more equipment. But as others have said there are less expensive models if you only need to power the Kronos.

The battery backup unit doesn't need to be able to run for an hour, usually just to prevent short outages from restarting your Kronos. If the power is out, you wouldn't have any amps, lights or anything else.

I bought an APC from WalMart for $39.00. It can actually run my laptop and external monitor as well. Again, just long enough to protect from short outages. (I keep the laptop battery out when powering from AC)

I basically agree with all of you. Interesting to note, that I have 2 1500 model APC's in other parts of my house, but I am using a smaller Cyberpower model with my Kronos and Oasys. When I upgrade the smaller unit, I will got to the APC 1500 model.

As Sanderxpaner mentioned, they are used to always allow safe shutoff and power on routines. A voltage regulator is used in my studio to reduce the surging and provide a clean constant power to all the equipment.

So is the consensus that most decent UPS devices will have a sufficient surge protection and power conditioning, or would it be best to keep my Furman?

It depends on your definition of "decent". If a UPS operates in Standby mode it will provide surge protection and power backup but when things are running well the power is passing thru without any additional conditioning.

Line Interactive UPS devices provide a good level of conditioning and should be fine. Finally there is the Online UPS systems which basically run off the battery and provides the absolute best protection available.

So always check the specs to be sure you get what you need. The APC 1500 that I use is Line Interactive.

When you say APC 1500 are you referring to something like the "APC Power Saving Back-UPS Pro 1500"? I found several different APC 1500 models.

Costco has a CyberPower CP1500AVRLCD for $150.
Does this look like it should do the job?
If I run this, would I be able to replace my Furman?

According to the specs the Topology for this unit is Line Interactive so you wouldn't need the Furman.
