It says in the manual that you can hook up a footswitch to PEDAL 2 and it will operate as a soft pedal, but I did that and calibrated it, but I'm not getting any soft pedal effects from it when I play the piano sounds. Is there anything else I need to do, or do I need a certain type of pedal? The pedal should work; I can do wah-wahing with it, so I know it works.

I've only ever used an expression pedal in pedal 2. This was to control volume... or wah when turned on.

Pedal 1 I believe can use a footswitch to control the slow/fast on the rotary effect.
