Display issue KP3...

Post by maarkr »

all the lights function fine when powering up and changing modes, but when u press the screen, only the top 2 rows of lights appear, no matter where your finger is on the screen. The lights used to appear around your finger pressing on the screen. Is this some stupid setting that I stumbled upon and can't figure how it happened? I did a reset and that didn't help.

Hi maarkr,

you can try to recalibrate your Kaoss Pad:
While powering on the KP3 hold down programm buttons 7, 8 and the sampling button.
The display should show "CAL1". Now touch the pad exactly on the bright position and wait until the next position lights up.

Repeat this until the display shows "P.off"
Restart your KP3 and check if the whole pad is working again.
Hope this helps you.

when I press on the lights doing the calibration, it doesn't move to another location on the screen.

:(

It seems you'll have to open it.
This video shows how to disassemble a KP3
At 3:45 it shows the mainboard-touchpannel connection.
Please, check if the wire on your KP3 is plugged in correctly.
