Not just the KR mini but it seems that they've unveiled quite a few different tuners/rhythm boxes all at once!

I think gold pre-dated the Ketron by a few years.

These products seem to aim at the next generation of musicians ...
Not a bad marketing strategy to sell big numbers for "small" money.
Maybe Toyz R Us would be a good place to offer them

It's great that Korg has such a wide range of products to choose from. Sell them wherever they can reach musicians of all genres. That kid in Toyz R Us just night be the next Grammy winner one day.

And you are absolutely correct, Korg's marketing strategy is woring very well.

Would'nt be the first time, either. I picked up a Yamaha mini keytar keyboard for my young daughter in a toyshop over 30 years ago. SH101, I believe the model number was.

This is great. A programmable pop/rock drum machine with almost no learning curve. It's obviously not intended for recording, but as soon as you state that, someone will make their whole record with it. I think Korg has a unique grasp of what people liked about the vintage stuff and is translating it well into new products.

Not to nitpick, but the little Yamaha keytar was an SHS10. It qualifies as a toy, though it has a definite cult value. The SH101 is a Roland analog synth that did come with a hand grip option that converted it into a keytar. It's considerably larger, more desirable and expensive nowadays.

Yes, my mistake. It was a long time ago. Cheers, Giner.
