Project: great i3 styles

Post by karmathanever »

Hi friends

Thanks to a recent discussion with my good mate "miden" (Dennis) I was prompted and decided to resurrect several of my old i3 styles. I started this last night and loaded them into my PA3X - wow!! Some very nice stuff - I had forgotten!!!
Most of the i3 styles were larger than the later i30 and PA styles, hence many of them were "better" in my mind. Classic styles like "Blues" had fantastic 4-measure FILLs. Even though Korg maintained some of these styles in later models, they cut down some of the style elements so the originals were still the best. Some of the i3 styles individually occupied from 2-4 style locations on the i30!!!

I did make these all available a long while back but have decided to load them up on my PA3X and edit them to a reasonable "playable" level (they tend to load at fixed volumes and 120bpm tempos) and then zip them up for you as a PA3X set.

There are several genres. These were additional to the i3 ROM factory styles (which I also have and will make available again).
This may take me a few days to do but hopefully by the weekend I will have them ready for anyone who is interested.

These will come as a PA3X SET - for anyone wanting these for PA1X/PA2X/PA800 I will zip up the styles but they will not have been tweaked as I no longer own or have access to any of these keyboards.

Cheers

Hi Dennis

I will package these for you too but as I said you may have some tweaking to do.
In the meantime, hopefully I will find the style you are after....

Cheers m8, yeah I figured there would be some tweaking for the PA1 - I would anyway to use my bass, drum and guitar presets.

Nice, nice, nice gesture Pete,

Like you I have played around with these styles in my Pa1X days, but once I got a Pa3X I have kind of forgotten of these goodies.
Hope to revive them with your generous offer.

Thanks Pete! I am currently working on my style library now that I have the replacement Pa900, and this will be a great addition, I'm sure.

Pete,

I'm curious as to why Korg would not include past styles with the PA3x? Would it be because they might be considered "out of style", or would it have been that they felt that the versions supplied with the 3x were better?

I'm guessing that there is plenty room for all within the PA?

From your generous offer and from those who have bitten your hand off I am thinking that I too might, after getting my PA3x (very soon), be thanking you too :)

Hi Ian

Korg did "sort of" keep styles through the models but they were changed here and there. A lot of owners complained that the same styles were maintained.

Anyhow if you put all the i-series and PA styles together then there is never any need to buy any (maybe there is a lesser supply of Eastern styles though).

The interesting thing is that styles differ even within the same "range" of model - e.g. the PA2XPro, PA800 and PA588 had different styles (even with same name sometimes).

I am sure this is the case right now with PA3X, PA600 and PA900 - we should all get a repository of "factory" styles for all to share eh?

Cheers

Hi i would like these for the pa1x so I can convert to the pa50sd and tweak for those of us who still use these keyboards.

Hi friends

I will get these done as soon as I can this week.

Some of you have PM'd me with e-mail addresses etc so I just wanted to reassure you that I will post download links for the SETs.

I will also re-post links to the i30, PA1X, and PA2X factory styles SETs

Note that this i3 project will be i3-styles in PA3X formatted SETs - I don't think they will load on PA2 or earlier models.
However, I can also post a link to these styles in their original format but you would have to do the tweaking etc...

Just keep an eye on this PA3X forum next week - I will definitely post links then even if I haven't finished them (sorry - just a bit short of time at the moment)

Cheers
