I feel embarassed asking.. Loading samples..

Post by mdeezy »

So I downloaded username section4 free samples on his website here.. http://section4.se/info/download.html
And put them onto a usb stick to load into my kronos. I have read the loading/saving section in the manual, and to be honest I had a hard time understanding it in its entirety. I understand I go to "disk", but would I choose "save" or "load"? I'm assuming load, so by drifting around I found where I select my usb stick, so I select my "usb" "RDD" drive at the bottom where I can view my files. Unfortunately, this is where I took a step back and decided to ask you professionals here at lovely korg forums. I did not want overwrite the factory library so I stopped until I received further guidance. So if you can guide me to the right direction, perhaps step by step would be oh so kind.

A. Do I select the "SAVE" or "LOAD" tab
B. There are two "KSC" folders in each download, for example
K5000.KSC
K5000.KSC_UserBank.KSC
I do not want to load 2 of the same sounds, do each folder contain separate sounds/programs?
C. After I select load, will it bring me an option to create a new folder to save/load my programs to? Will it overwrite the factory library?
B. If C is possible, could I continue adding more programs to the newly created folder.

Much appreciated.

Never feel embarrassed asking question. This is the section that I least understand...I have loaded new samples but can never fully describe how to do it

A - Load
B - You can use either one. _userbank will stream from disk
C - load wont ask about a folder - it will ask about how to load them into the Kronos - you can append, clear current sampling data, or clear all. This depends a lot on what you want to do accomplish. Probably one of the first two is what you want so you dont clear factory samples.
D. This doesnt really make sense to me, because C didn't.

If these do not have a .pcg file, then after you load the sample you will need to convert the multisample to a program, which you can then save.

I created some Brass Samples a few months back and spent ages trying to figure out how to share them on the forum.
I ended up creating an idiots guide for myself and one of our newbie forum members.
If you read from page 3 on this link, you may end up with a better understanding on how this all works.
The link to my brass samples is still valid and you are welcome to download then and mess about with them.
