Of a bouncing baby Kronos X88.

Well, almost, it should get here in about a week. I want to thank everyone who contributed to questions I posted over the last week, and about 6 months ago when I first registered on this site.

Now to read the manual, and I will again when I get it here. Can anyone recommend any other good learning tools, such as videos. And yes, I know, hands-on is best teacher, but any input will be greatly appreciated.

I started with a look at the 6-part Korg video at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w77zsCHO2Oc. These are also on a DVD that comes with the keyboard.

There are some excellent tutorials by QuiRobinez at http://www.youtube.com/user/qrobinez/videos

While you are waiting for your Kronos to arrive, you can read the documentation online. Old versions of the docs (in order of increasing complexity!) are readily available at

These have been updated for the new OS V2.1 and can all be downloaded as part of the OS update package at http://www.gearzonemusic.com/Kronos/KRO ... _2_1_0.zip but this is quite a large download as it includes the new OS and manuals in all languages etc. The smaller file at http://www.korg.com/uploads/Support/USA ... OS_2.1.zip that should include all updated documentation does not contain the new Quick Start or Parameter Guide.

Korg has a bunch on you tube that I've found to be very helpful.

Why the congratulations when people spend a lot of money on a tool, even a pretty nice tool? Or why do people think they have to tell us that they did? To paraphrase William Munny in "Unforgiven", "Congrats got nothin' to do with it..."

Goughy - thanks for all these great links. When I first started investigating keyboards at the beginning of this year, I did begin reading the manual, which I downloaded to my IPad, but Korg has those docs locked so you can't take notes on them (which is a complete pain in the butt), but someone on here sent me unlocked versions of them. Apparently there is a software or app you can get to unlock the docs, but I couldn't get it to work, so he sent them to me. I was going to check to see if the online manual is any newer than the one I downloaded, which was probably in June.

Uh, cuz that's what this forum's for - why else would it have a "New Members" section. "Sides, if you're going to go around quotin Clint Eastwood movies, The Outlaw Josie Wales is a much better source. So, to quote Granny Hawkins, " I say that big talk's worth doodly-squat."

In addition to the suggestions mentioned, I would also add Qui Robinez's tutorials. I really think Korg should hire him!

Yes Qui's an awesome resource, the manuals and as Jeremy stated youtube is great as well. As with a newborn you may have some sleepless nights but at least the 88 does not spit up and needs no diaper changing. Best of luck Flemmings, look forward to seeing you on the forums.

Thanks Jeremey; this is perhaps a duh question but I'm not too familiar with how YouTube works, but does Korg have it's own channel?

Thanks Vlad and Bertotti for the Qui reference. Vlad, Since it might be hard to determine the sex of the thing, how about just a virtual cigar and since it's virtual, I'll give away Cubans! How do the sounds on your Kurzweil PC3 compare - that was another one I investigated but no shop within 200 miles of here, believe or not, had any in their actual inventory. Besides the screen looked small and no set list feature.
