Korg Microkey 25 and ipad mini

is it possible to use the above with a apple camera kit ?

It should work ok but it will drain the battery quickly. The Korg website recommends using a powered USB hub if you will be using it for an extended length of time.

I just picked up the Samson carbon 49 and it will work for hours off iPad mini.
I know they make a 25 key version you might want to consider. It is a great price also.

I've tried using powered usb hub and the camera connection kit,the micro key lights up but nothing else,is there something I have overlooked?

What app are you using? You might have to go into the settings/options for the app and select the device and midi channel.

im using garageband and korg ims20,there doesnt appear to be any settings to do this

The iMS20 is hard wired to MIDI channel 1 so there is nothing to setup for that app. There aren't any other settings I can think of. I don't have a microKEY myself so I can't try anything. Maybe you could try it on a PC to see if that works. Also try it without the USB hub.
