How will you use the Korg Gadget?

How will you use the Korg Gadget? There are a lot of possibilities. Is it a toy? Is it a scratchpad DAW? Is it a DJ tool. Is it for serious music production? Is it something else?

I've only just installed it so I don't really have much of an opinion yet other than its fun.

I'd say its whatever you want it to be. But as Korg updates it, I imagine it to become even more than what it is now. So far, its brilliant.

I used mine to pass by an entire evening just now and will on many more nights no doubt. I will use it much more once it gets on the audiobus I also know. I can't wait for it.

I bouthg it yesterday too and I think its one of the best out there. the sound is really amazing! I think currently its between a toy and a scratchpad DAW IMHO.
I REALLY hope Korg will evolve it, add more "serious" features and make it a fully capable DAW. waiting for updates ... :P

As a noisy live (analogue eletronics) musician I can def. see myself using a lot of Tokio for live support to let me more concentrate on the sound structure.

I just love how you can set really odd time measures on a scene basis and grid size per clip. There is a lot of dynamic possibilites here.
Of course I could use a lot of other stuff or app, e.g. DM-1 but Gadget somehow hits a really sweet spot.

Hi, newb here

Just wanted to say I think its excellent. I have beatmaker, nano, and auria...and none have really worked for me...ive bought just about every synth app but my music stuffs mostly hardware so it never fits. Im running two ipads as controllers with touchable and v control and i thought thats as far as theyd go with music when i saw this...

Its exactly what ive been looking for, a sketchpad with enough built in choices to be creative and without bogging itself down trying to be a DAW. Its very very instant and sounds good enough to let you know how a composition will sound. I dont think Ill use much more than half a dozen of the gadgets over anything more than 16 bars, but thats its genius

I really hope the allow the exporting of midi, thats paramount to me using this, but I cant see why it wouldnt be included in a future update...exporting individual audio stems would prolly be an idea too

Its got me interested in trackers too..

I'm sure that'll come but in the meantime, the Freeze feature is effectively individual audio export. The exported audio in the Freeze folder can be accessed via iTunes or iFunbox.

Yeah i saw that...not that my ipads jailbroken or attached to the PC ever

Easy enough to paste the stems over to auria with the solo function but really Im going to wait for midi export rather than trying to keep things in the ipad

Can't install on my iPad 2 as I'm sticking with iOS 6.1.3, but a similar workflow (with arguably more control and some very interesting and less pretty sorta Reason-esque synths and thingies) can be achieved with Caustic 3. I have had it on BB Playbook for a while and it's out for iOS now. Worth a look if you're on an older iPad as apparently it runs on the original - coding seems very efficient even on "ancient" Playbook, up to 14 tracks. Extra cool as standalone funmaker on Playbook too as it has proper decent sounding front firing 2-way speakers

Dev's YT page http://www.youtube.com/user/CausticApp?feature=watch

All for 9.99 Canadian at that.

Looking into an iPad Air soon tho so Gadget is on the horizon for me too, looks and sounds great in demos

I want to use it live hooked up to a midi controller or my church's triton which is already not working well. But I really hope Korg gives us the ability to use it in landscape mode instead of just portrait. I love Korg sounds all the way!
