Why Does my X50 sound like a warped tape?

Post by babrams123 »

I've been playing my X-50 for several years, and I've noticed that some presets experience a warped tape effect when I hold down a key. The key will shift unexpectedly, never staying long on the intended key I'm pressing. This happened on only a few presets before but now it appears to be a universal problem. Anyone have a clue what this about?

I have also periodically had the issue where every 4th key will be silent upon powering on. Can an X-50 deterioriate like this and if so, what to do?

Thanks

my pitchbend wheel wore out on my x-50. it caused some really strange pitch changes as the keyboard was being played without touching the pitchbend wheel. I had to replace the wheel mechanism itself. u might try disabling any parameters the pitchbend wheel would drive, and see if this fixes your warped condition. if it does fix the condition, it prbably is a worn out pitchbend wheel that is spitting out random PB info.

just a suggestion
