Tritons Studio Possible probelma in Display

Friends recently bought a Studio 76 Tritons, is very well maintained and was standing for a long time.
Only he was in the beginning with low internal battery, and had a defect in his display.
When you turn on, the dysplay alloy but does not light up.
After about 30 seconds or so it lights up.
But sometimes it takes on and off to light the display.
After a day with the new battery it did not show this probelma more.
  My question is: Does the display problem has something to do with the old battery? Someone here in the forum that has Triton Classic or Studio or extreme or even a Trinity had this problem or something?
