Hi, I have some old backing tracks in old sony minidisk. I would like to import them to my laptop using Kronos digital optical input.

My setup is a Mac laptop with Logic Pro X -> USB cable -> Korg Kronos <- OPTICAL cable <- Minidisk player

Does anyone could suggest the best routing on Kronos to import a single stereo track in logic? Which bus should I select for the S/P DIF L&R ?

Thanks

I guess you have to route both S/P DIFs trough L/R and in Logic you have to set your Kronos as an Audio Interface.
That should work. Or you can even record them in kronos and bonce them after.

Why not just save the wave file from Kronos to a USB stick and import (Open) it in Logic? (Sorry if I misunderstood you..)

Lou, do you mean to rec at first in the Kronos sequencer and then save to USB?
I thought to use logic because I need to import 1 hour and half of music, then cut the songs and remaster them ... just wondering the fastest workflow...

Are minidisks 48KHz? I'm not sure you'll be able to sync the clocks otherwise.

But yes if you set the K up as a USB soundcard in Logic and route the audio from the optical in L/R to USB L/R in the global menu (audio tab), you should be able to record directly into Logic. Provided you can sync all components to 48KHz.
