Hi all.

I've got my Kronos. My aunt was in Orlando and she went to some guitar centre and met a very old school friend who sold her a demo Kronos for $1500 with a korg case.

When I booted it, there is 128gb ssd and 3.25gb RAM. Not sure if I'll ever use it all.

Anyhow. My first question is can I import my EXS samples (from mainstage) with the relevant wav files into my Kronos? If not then I've seen the long winded multi sampling video on YouTube and read the sampling section on the manual.

First, congrats.

Second, you need to update the operating system of your Kronos. The fact that it shows 3.25 Gb RAM suggests that v1.5 is currently installed. You can bypass intermediate versions and isntall 2.1.1 directly (and don't forget the new factory data together with free Organ banks on korg.com/kronos).

The Kronos will not work with EXS banks directly. The best thing would be to save the EXS banks as SF2 using specialist software such as Chickensys Translator or Extreme Sample Converter, then import the resulting SF2 in the Kronos. Finally, tweek the program created by the SF2 import.

WAV files can be used by the Kronos, so you can also create banks, following the manual section on sampling.

I've upgraded the OS and I love it.

I've also converted my full EXS library to SF2, but the quality of samples is very low and not very meaty like it should be. Why would that be the case?

What did you use to conver them? What settings?
It could also be that the samples are not very "meaty" and that they are being punched up in Logic. In that case you would need to do some tweaking on the Kronos.
