Problems using Krome as Controller; more problems too

Post by Tristan Ewins »

Hi all; More problems. :(

Most immediately: I am trying to set up my Krome as a controller now for Sonar X3. To start I don't seem able to do this no matter how I mess around with the controller options. And therefore I'm not getting any sound via Sonar X3 no matter what I do...

Second I don't know how to upload my soft-synths in Sonar X3; and I don't know how to record in Sonar X3 either. I've had problems trying to upload soft-synths/instruments with Music Creator 6 Touch too.

Finally I still don't know how to record straight into Sonar X3 via the Krome using the Krome voices...

Sorry if I've asked any of this before; am losing track; is very frustrating. :(

Krome in X3

Post by musichoo »

In order to use Krome's controller in X3 you need to some set up. You need to install the USB/midi driver and Krome plugin editor. To download this 2 software go to http://www.korg.com/us/products/synthesizers/krome. The Krome editor plugin is 32 bit so in is better to use 32 bit version of Sonar. In Sonar, press P to got to preference page. In MIDI subcategories choose control surfaces. Watch this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X7QY3uIdzUQ

The best place to ask Sonar question is the non other than the Cakewalk's Sonar forum. Probably the best DAW forum in the world because the guys and girls there are very helpful. go to http://forum.cakewalk.com/

A DAW takes a long time to learn. I would suggest you tried to read some of the basic tutorial like http://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation/d ... lcome.html.

Another good way to get started is the groove 3 video Sonar 3 Explained. http://www.store.cakewalk.com/b2cus/Pro ... EX3.00-20E

To insert softsynth in X3, click insert in Menu> Softsynth> your synth of choice.

Remember, you need to be patience and willing to invest your time in learning a DAW, any DAW. As your skills and experience improve over time, your reward will come.

BTW, I am musichoo in Cakewalks Forum. See you there. Best Wishes.
