Hi everyone. I am seeking any reviews of gadget being ran on an ipad mini retina. I am on the fence between air and mini retina. Is anyone running this configuration? My main concern is the screen real estate, I want to make sure that I can easily do everything I need to on it. Thanks all!

I'm using the Gadget on an iPad 4 and I want more screen space. But its the same resolution I think so its just that things will look bigger/smaller. You wont get any extra room to work with.

Tanks for the reply! I am mainly concerned with buttons being so small that I might accidentally hit an unwanted button. Or any difficulty editing midi /automation due to screen size.

You might encounter that on the synths. Since they take up only the bottom half of the screen, most of the knobs and sliders are pretty small.

I was in the same situation and decided to go with a mini retina. Gadget controls definitely feel a bit too small on a mini, but it's manageable. I didn't have any trouble with midi or automation, and all the knobs on synths seem to be spaced well enough. It definitely takes some extra attention, but I don't have any issues with hitting wrong buttons/knobs.
The only real problem are the octave switching buttons, they are just beyond tiny.

I guess in the end it's just a question of how big your fingers are

I finally got frustrated and bought a stylus. Waaay better for managing those tiny knobs and sliders, as well as note editing. You can actually see what you're doing. Major PITA before. Overall I'm really stoked with Gadget though.

I'm using Gadget on both a full-sized iPad 3 and on an iPad Mini. I was surprised how usable Gadget is on the mini. I expected the controls to be too small, but it's more than manageable for my fingers.

And on the smaller screen the synths look even better to my eyes. This is an awesome and incredibly fun app.
