MIDI - pitch bend question... should be simple?

Just getting into MIDI after all these years, and am feeling kinda dumb at the moment. Need to get something working for a gig Friday nite:
I want to play a lead snippet (of a kronos X leadsynth patch) from my hammond XK1c (the section is very very fast and my kronos-x 73 keyboard is a little too heavy for me to pull this off). So - I updated a combi where my leadsynth timbre is on midi channel 16 (and I set the hammond to transmit on 16). So - now I can play my kronos patch just fine - and none too sloppy I might add...
But I want the Kronos pitch bender to have an effect on this timbre.. so far am having no luck with that. I've tried all sorts of settings on that timbre's "Bend Range" from the timbre parm PITCH page. I was really hoping that was it. NOPE. Any ideas?
thanks,
tom

I'm not entirely sure this will work, but I think it may be possible to use the KARMA MIDI I/O function to reroute the joystick over to MIDI channel 16.
In your Combi, start on KARMA GE Setup/Key Zones screen.
Let's work with module A (you can choose a different module if you want):
Uncheck the Run Box. Because we don't want to trigger KARMA GEs.
Set both the Zone Btm & Top to C -1.
In the MIDI I/O section,
Set Input CH to GCH.
Set Output CH to 16.
Now go to the next tab, KARMA MIDI Filter / CC Offset.
Uncheck everything for Module A except pitch bend.
That should do it. I hope. Now, turn on KARMA.
Try the Kronos's pitch bender when playing the XK1c.
If it doesn't work, let me know. We may need to adjust something else or modify one of the above settings. Unfortunately, my keyboard is packed up and en route to the States (I'm moving), so I can't test it myself -- but this is where I'd start...

HardSync you're a bona fide genius! Worked like a champ!
I actually tried it immediately following your step to set output ch to 16. And it worked right there... so I didn't go onto the remaining steps.
thank U my good man!

If you don't do the other steps it just means you will also be able to play the timbre from the Kronos keyboard and the K's other controls also affect the sound. The idea was to filter out everything except the pitchbend. But if it's not a problem for you, you're set!

Hi,
I almost have the same problem and was wondering if you could help me?
My setup is: as the lower key a stage2 and upper key is a Kronos 61. I went MIDI out from my stage to in on Kronos and out from kronos to in on the stage. Cuz I wanna be able to use them both at the same time.
So, i have a piano sound on my stage and want 2 different pads from the Kronos as a layer under it witch I have manage. But on this two pads from the Kronos I wanna be able to use the ribbon effect (witch I can use on the Kronos before I change the MIDI ch)
I've tried what you wrote here but it didn't work.. Any ideas?
