I see Korg are releasing a new update in April. This is what they're saying

The new operating system for our flagship arranger, including new exciting Sounds and Performances and enabling communication with iPad and Android tablets.

Wonder how that's going to work?

Cheers

This is very good news. I'm surprised at the small jump in OS number from 1.62 to 1.63. I think ipad/tablet integration deserves a big 2.0!
Thanks Korg.

Cool! It doesn't say what kind of integration they're talking about...

Hi All

I think this is nice

However we need something more like the ability to play audio drum loops etc in styles at different speeds and maintaining the pitch without splicing.

The tech is there as traktor etc can do it effortlessly.

Well we can dream at least

thanx

I may be able to justify an iPad now!!!
Taking flowers and chocolates home tonight - should be a lot easier than justifying a PA4X

Apple are some shower of chancres...lol
With Mothers day only around the corner here in Ireland, I got an email from Apple today telling me that I can now buy a gift my Mom she will enjoy opening over and over again this Mothers day.

The new iPad.

lol... For the €700 Euro they wanted for the iPad, I could buy my Mother an entire Desktop PC, 23 Inch Monitor, Wi-Fi Printer with FAX and Scanner, and I'd have enough left over to buy her a computer desk to put it all on.

Regards
Sharp.

True, but that doesn't stop millions from buying them and Apple knows it! Not too long ago, I had developed a Tablet/Mobile app and just wanted to know how it looks on an Android device. I was surprised to find out every single co-worker at the studio was carrying iPhone/iPads..etc. It took a while to find someone with an android phone.

it great that korg is enabling communication with ipad and android tablets what about PC tablets in the same way and we need Wi-Fi no wires to go to the ipad , or let go one better something we all want ,, Editor/Librarian software ... or let just put all this new communications and Sounds and Performances standard inside the new Pa4, I use the pa3x all in one ,,, so I do not need to carry a laptop and more wires and have to install drivers ,, I want to plug in and play not to setup more stuff..

Does anybody have any info on what the new features will be?
I'm hoping that the ipad/tablet communication is more than just file swap capability - maybe the ability to read lyrics/score etc on the tablet? Perhaps an app or two that will be useful?.

With regard to sounds I'm really hoping they might address what I think is the weakest link at the moment - being the factory piano sounds.
The free Steinway that Antony Sharmann made available a little while back is better by far than anything in the Pa3x in my opinion.
Anyway kudos to Korg for not forgetting about us.

John......I agree with you about the stock pianos in the PA3x.......worst I've ever played.

Where would I find Antony Sharmann's "Steinway?"

Thanks

Here is a link to the "Steinway Plus" piano set.
It contains 5 versions of the Steinway including two very detailed versions that use 22 oscillators (with effects ranging from key off, pedal, resonance and even faint damper sounds if a key is released too quickly) very realistic - it feels like you are playing the real thing. They also feature 6 levels of expression filtering (3 in mf and 3 in ff samples) compared to 4 in the factory pianos. Also included is a mono Yamaha and a new version of the Acoustic Piano. Eight pianos in total.

Choose File, Download and then unzip it. Then Load the Steinway Plus.SET file. All up I think it uses about 30mb of Ram. The set only contains Sounds so no global or style files to upset your keyboard.

If you want a preview you can hear a version of the Steinways in my new (amateurish) website with the songs "Your Song" or "Desperado"
