Muting / Soloing parts

Post by neomad »

Hello everybody, a quick question, please:

I am a Kronos owner, but I do not want to move 2/3 times a week going to studio. I keep the Kronos only for live gigs.

I am considering to buy a smaller and lighter keyboard for that purpose (x50, kross or even M50).

Question is:

Can I mute / solo parts on the fly ? (example with knobs or buttons?). I some songs I'm using about 4/5 parts and I would like to kill the sound in some parts (example, only uses swell choirs pad for 'verse', the come back only to piano sound).

Can this be done with 4 knobs or joystick or SW1/2?
I've downloaded manuals of X50 and Kross yesterday, but could not find the way to asign mute functions to controls within Combi mode.

Thanks in advance for your valuable help
regards
Matt

We are hoping that a future OS update will enable the 16 buttons that normally are used for Favorites or Step Sequencer Steps could be repurposed to function as track mute switches. But that is only a hope!

Thank you Sir ! was so easy to add a 'shift' button some place and assign multiple functions (or make it user assignable). Now, with a future OS update, combination of buttons can make a lot of things too.

Cheers!

Last thing,

Is there a way with controllers (SW1,2, knobs, joystick) to mute/unmute parts ? or with AMS?

Thanks in advance for your tips ;)

I think if you set SW1=Mod CC80, and in the Program set CC80 to -99 amount of Amp Volume for a sound, for all the sounds (Timbres) in the Combi that you wanted to mute with SW1, and SW2= Mod CC81, and some other Programs that you wanted to mute, set CC81 to -99 amount of Amp Volume for their sound (being sure to do both Osc. 1 and Osc. 2 for these sounds) - then you could mute 2 different sets of sounds, with SW1 and SW2, which would give you 4 different 'mixes' - but as you can see, you would have to program the sounds that way in Program Mode. So the answer, is really NOT REALLY. Face reality my friend. It's not a Kronos...

Thanks. Indeednot a Kronos, Kross really rocks !. The solution you give me is the same I was thinking, but not sure that can be implemented.

I'll go to a music store these days and try.
Thanks again
Best,
