I've never used my sequencer before. I guess it's time I learn. Anyways, I was able to record the 'initial' backing track. I need to layer another sound over it & then I'm done.
How do you do that with out recording over the track I just made? Sorry but I am a 'newbie' in this area. Thanks...

Generally, that would be:
- select a new track, and assign a program to it that you want to layer over the others.
- Make sure your MIDI Record track is set to that track.
- Record enable that one track
- Record new material onto the new track, leaving all of your other tracks the way they are already recorded.

When in sequencer mode, move to the Play/REC tab, and then to MIDI Prog/Mixer tab. On the screen you can see all 16 tracks displayed in columns, and these include the 16 green screen buttons labeled Play.

When you press the REC/WRITE button on the right-hand side of the KRONOS surface, then KRONOS enters recording pause mode and the track that it is going to record to will get its Play button turn to a red REC button. So you can see in advance what track will be recorded before you actually start the recording.

As StephenKay already mentioned, recording is done onto the selected track, so you can switch from your 'initial' track to the new one by just selecting the desired track.
