Found any good sequencers for the Beats?

So, I quickly got bored of the 16 step sequencer on the Volcas. Really wish they included 4 bars like the standard on the electribes.
Anyways, I've been looking for a good sequencer on iOS for the Beats. I've tried Beat Maker 2 (excellent DAW, by the way), but the problem is that the drum notes are all spread out, just like on Ableton, as shown in this thread:
http://www.korgforums.com/forum/phpBB2/ ... hp?t=85654
Then I tried DM1 (a fantastic drum app!). The great thing is that all the drum sounds are lined up on the same screen, so you can do some fast sequencing, much much better than the old electribe style of seeing one line at a time imo. This would be perfect but the problem is that there are only 9 drum lines, and only 6 of them trigger the Beats.
So, I'm on the hunt for something that would provide me with a sequencer for the Beats where the notes aren't spread out. Has anyone found this or something close? Much appreciated.

check out nord beat 2
only drawback is it has only 6 track
i guess it could be synced so some tracks are sequenced from the volca still...
I guess something could be build in Lemur, but learning that is a Project.
It could be that something like that al
ready exists though....
i am still hoping for an volca beats update that gives pattern chain

Thanks Teknoid. it has the same problem as DM1 (only 6 voices) but at least you can choose which drum voices you can trigger. It also has some great features that I haven't seen implemented in other apps.
I still want something that could give me 10 voices not spread across a piano roll, but I suppose I can use this for now as my search continues. Thanks again!
so dm-1 does midi out to the korg volca?

Yes, you can sequence it from DM1 but you can't choose change the CC number as you can with Nord beat 2. Its actually 7 of the sounds that are triggered - Bass, snare, lo tom, closed hat, open hat, clap, and crash.

I wish iOS sequencers would allow custom piano rolls! It seems simple (but I'm not a software developer). Just allow us to create a custom scale, with the ability to select octave-specific notes. Problem solved. Any app that has scale functions should give us that ability.

The reason the notes are so spread out on the Volca Beats is because it's trying to follow the MIDI standard drum map.
http://computermusicresource.com/GM.Per ... eyMap.html
Most drum machines function this way so that note data can be transfer from one machine to another with minor editing.
Unfortunitely, I don't know of any iOS drum machine apps, but I do know that using Ableton, you can create a custom "Drum Kit" with specific note mappings, then when you open up a MIDI piano roll clip, it will only show those specific notes.
Volca beats problem with sequencer

I've tried several app--funkbox, Nord Beats 2, DM-1--and all of them don't work properly. The Volca Beats only outputs monophonically if I try to use a sequence from any of them. If I use the pads, though, the Volca is polyphonic.
I can't figure this out and Korg hasn't responded to a tech question.
Anyone else have this issue? How can I fix it?
I have the cc numbers correct and the midi channel is set just fine.

I've found a great solution - im using my Electribe ES1 to drive the Volca Beats. This means I get longer sequences and can even use its Roll function.
Here are the Midi Note Numbers (strangely, they differ from the ones on the link Re-Member posted [thanks for that, by the way! very invaluable])
C2 - Kick
D2 - Snare
D#2 - Clap
F#2 - Closed Hat
G2 - Lo Tom
A#2 - Open Hat
C#3 - Crash
D3 - Hi Tom
G4 - Agogo
D#5 - Claves

what settings did you use on the ES-1 to actually sequence the vBeats?
I have them synced (clock only) via MIDI cable anyways, but I haven´t really found a proper way to send notes from the ES-1 without turning off the ES-1´s internal sounds?
maybe the solution is just too obvious >_<

Always had a qy70, but never tried sequencing the Beats with it. Gonna try it out once Korg sends back a Beats.

Remove the audio cable, or just lower the volume on the ES1.

I use an ancient Yamaha QY10! Like to keep everything hardware and portable (would upgrade to a QY70 or QY100 if the price was right).

Nice! Got one of them too. Being portable and retro looking, I think they are a perfect match. They're just about the same size. Gotta try them out. I've only used the qy10 with my Monotribes so far.
