Are there any of the recommended libraries / expansions that cater specifically for this kind stuff... i.e. Early Genesis Yes, Crimson, Tull etc

I am seeing then odd "moog" sound, organ, tron...etc. hinted at in ads but was looking for a recommendations from someone who has used them

Is there one good source that you might recommend me to try and get many of these in one place?

I 2nd this request. I am interested in sounds and what artist / track and section maybe it comes from.

Not aware of specific libraries, but for early Genesis there are already sounds in the Kronos you can use - Tony Banks didn't much at his disposal:

1) Acceptable Hammond B3 sounds which can be tweaked to L100
T102 with or without phase
2) Mellotron Choir
3) Mellotron Strings

I'm sure I saw an RMI piano amongst some of the threads.
You need to find something that sounds like an ARP ProSoloist but that is not really in scope of a Kronos IMHO - you can get closeish but not enough for me.
As mentioned Burningbuschs sounds can also be tweaked.

Whilst not in the Kronos, the E-Mu Vintage Keys module was specifically designed with these sounds. They're generally under 200 on eBay, and they *really* do these sounds justice. Lot's of raw waves from the all the classic instruments that you can put through their amazing Z-Plane filters to get exactly what you're looking for. The CP-70 is brilliant!

I had one for about 15 years, and finally sold it off when I stopped gigging as I didn't need that level of realism any longer.

Honestly, besides the basic B3, mellotron, and piano stuff - your best bet is to learn your way around AL-1.

I think it all depends on what type of Prog sounds you're looking for. A lot of the Clav sounds are good for Gentle Giant type stuff. With AL-1 you can get close to a lot of the Moog type sounds that Yes and ELP used too. For that huge Modular Moog that Keith Emerson used, I would use several AL-1 patches in Combi mode. Remember that Effects in those days were pretty limited too but a lot of keyboard players used guitar amps.

Digital Sound Factory sells the EMU sound libraries which they have in Soundfont format . The EMU Tron sounds IMHO sound really good and they are different sounding than the ones onboard the Kronos

btw I actually own the Roland MV-1 Vintage Keys module which is not bad really but I did not want to take any more racks, leads out or/and desk channels up if possible

If you're not into programming sounds yourself, we have a lot of really amaizing programmers here. I can't think of their names offhand but KidNepro comes to mind. Great libraries. I'd have a look around on this site first but the are also other libraries out there. eg:

I think it all depends on which "prog" sounds you are looking for.

Agree there is a lot of talent here. Find the best way to tap into it for your needs. Great community.

I do not recommend the Karo library. You're better off getting the free AMProsoloVST plugin and sampling the sounds yourself if you are covering some Genesis from the ProSoloist era. I'm using real samples from the ProSoloist and Quadra in my Kronos to cover Genesis from 1970-1980.

i have a rhodes chroma library i will have converted over fairly soon for sale that's very good for old tron / organ / prog sounds and was created really for that.
