Sampling : allowing Offset parameter with RAM samples?

Hello.
I want to use the Offset function with my samples.
Is it possible, inserting some markers or something else in the wav file, with an external software?
Thanks.

It's probably a bug.

I found that bug in the Pa1X and reported it to KORG back then, which they did fix. I remember seeing the exact same bug in the Pa3X a while back. I didn't send KORG and email this time around though, but I did mention it in a Bug thread we had running on the forum.

Chances are KORG didn't see it so it might be best to send them an email on this.

Sharp.

I Sharp, my english is probably very bad and I don't understand what is supposed to be a bug.

The Offset parameter works very well with ROM multisamples : I can change the "Baritone Sax f" starting from "Off" to 1st, 2nd or "No attack" value.

This parameter didn't exist in the PA1X.

I would like to use it with RAM samples/multisamples.
Is it impossible?
If it's possible, what kind of event have to be inserted in the wave file?

The bug was this function didn't work for RAM on the Pa1X and only worked for ROM. I reported this to KORG and they fixed it so that it worked on both perfectly.

That why I was saying this sounds like a bug. What your describing sounds exactly what I experienced with the Pa1X and as I mentioned above, KORG fixed this when it was reported to them.

I'm 100% sure it did. On the Pa1X it was a tick box called 2nd Offset.
I would like to use it with RAM samples/multisamples.
Is it impossible?
I'll have to fire up my Pa3X to be sure. I'm only guessing that the problem could be a bug. It just sounds exactly like what I experienced with the Pa1X.

Thank you : it's clearer!
With Sound forge, I've inserted markers in the wave file I used to test this function. But indeed I don't know if the PA3X OS uses markers to work. The only thing I'm sure is that this parameter can't work if the sample doesn't include informations to tell the OS : here is the "2nd" point, here is the "3rd" point, here is the"No attack" point...

PaSeries (from Pa2X as far as I remember) do not read custom samples standard sample markers created by any external audio editor.
Sometimes I had noticed 1st point to be recognized in a custom looped sample but starting point was accidental , just some mS
after sample's attack and not at an actual marked point !

Probably Rom samples use a special format for markers that I have not discovered yet , also I've requested Korg Italy
developers to publish that format for all third party sound developers, since 4 years !
Also it could be possible that PaSeries OS do not allow this function to work under custom samples ... who knows !

Hi All

I guess no one else not even Korg sees the potential in this missing/non functioning feature????

What a shame when the manufacturer don't give a s@#&^ in regards to making their product work 100 percent or to improve on same.

Oh Well, like im used to saying now... after manufacturer releasing newer models leaving previous unfinished or operating at 70 percent of what the unit could very possibly do....."take the money and run"
