I am playing live and the sound changes by itself. Before I take it to the repair shop, which is very expensive, any thoughts on what it could be.

I guess that it could be your rig setup somewhere, Midi is the obvious answer, maybe a rouge foot switch connection?. Try removing all external attachments, also remove the sample memory/board if installed and do a factory reset. If that cures it, start re-attaching until you find the culprit. Try wobbling the buttons gently, is there one stuck?
