Hi Guys,
Just wondering if anyone has any experience with the app Onsong and midi to the Kronos using the camera kit???
When I select a song on the Kronos Setlist I want it to change the ipad to display the words for that particular song on Onsong
I 99% sure it can be done just don't know how!!
Any advice welcome.

I use Setlist Maker instead so I can only be of limited help, but I select the song on the iPad and then it sends a Program Change message to my Kronos which selects the right sound. Perhaps doing it that way around is an option for you too?

thanks for the info, but I want to do it the other way around.... I want to select on the Kronos Setlist and have it bring up the notes on OnSong!

that would only be able to happen if the application supports receiving program change information via MIDI. Basically each song would be a "patch" inside the app.
I recently went through something like this, trying to do what you are trying to do. None of the apps (I looked at a couple) supported receiving midi program change data like that.
I ultimately settled on Setlist Maker because of some of the other features it had. I also actually explored changing my footswitch control on the Kronos from Prog+ to cc#82 and mapping Setlist Maker to send the program change back into the Kronos. I ultimately decided that was more trouble than it was worth. I picked up a set of bluetooth pedals and I now have a Song Advance Button and a Midi Preset advance button. I each song set up inside SLM with a notes sheet (PDF), Midi preset changes (sometimes several per song), and (will be adding shortly) backing tracks. I connect the Kronos via camera kit and it all works a treat. The combi on my Kronos sends the program change to my other gear (V-Synth, GSI Burn, Vocal Processor, and now Prophet 12). I just had my first gig with this setup yesterday and it worked awesomely. I can arrange my setlist on the fly (something you CAN'T do when you are running your program changes from the Kronos), and
The biggest PITA is that it took about 2 hours of data massaging inside CSV files using data from both PCGTools (get the program numbers) and from my master song list in order to get something that I could get together to do one massive import for the 75 songs I needed to load.
I know this doesn't answer your question for Onsong, but I wanted to share my experience. I actually did a feature comparison a few weeks ago between Onsong & SLM and SLM had a few key features that really made it stand out as just being better, overall. I'll try to find the article I found and post it tonight.

Setlist maker can do exactly what you described. I asked the programmer, Arlo Leach, to implement this feature and he did!
I select the patch/song on the kronos setlist mode, and it brings up the pdf/mp3/metronome/etc on Setlist maker automatically.
Setlist maker is by far the best Band App out there. It can do anything you can imagine. (there is a bit of a learning curve, though, but well worth it).
And no, the programmer is not paying me to write this glowing review.

I really like it too.
I think it could be a bit more elegant and I have the odd PDF related crash (during annotation editing, mainly) but it sure is powerful!
