Midi IN maxes polyphony after 2 notes?

Post by Paul-K88 »

This is a strange one - I tried using an M Audio 49e . It works but I can't play 3 notes in succession with out the sound stopping short from either the local keyboard or the M-Audio keys. Has anyone had any trouble with polyphony like this?

Are you using the USB jack from the M-Audio 49 to the USB jack of the Krome? I have used the Krome's MIDI IN (5 pin DIN) many times from an external controller with MIDI Out and never had an issue.

thank you for writing

I'm just using midi to midi like you have before.

Ah - the band mate that lent it to me included a mismatched power supply - I found one that works fine.

So to be clear, you are using a MIDI cable coming from the MIDI Out of the controller to the MIDI In of the Krome?

And is the Krome in Program, Performance or Sequencer Mode:?

Yes - MIDI Out of the controller to the MIDI In of the Krome - and the Krome is in Combi Mode.

I thought the different power supply fixed it but it is still the same - intermittent cut off of all sound whether triggered from the M-Audio keyboard or the Krome's own keyboard when the midi cable is connected.
