Bank M not loading on power on

I have a Korg Trinity with HDR-TRI, DI-TRI and PBS-TRI, at version 3.1.2. It has worked well for many years and is not moved much and has never been mistreated. Recently the Bank M Program sounds have intermittently started to fail to load when I power on the machine. Banks A-D are always present. I tried loading Bank M from the Trinity V3 Series Preload Data diskette, but I get an error message saying "There is no readble data". Other banks can be loaded from this diskette. Is this a hardware failure? Are there any workarounds I could try?

You have tried a complete reset with „Enter“ and „0“ pressed during power on? All PCG and PBS Flashrom sample-data will be erased and reseted this way.
Or is it maybe a sign for a low buffer batterie?

open it up and check the cable he said he had bank M " Recently the Bank M Program sounds have intermittently started to fail to load " keyword, intermittently. OS 3.1 will work with all options. especially since he isnt complaining about anythnig except bank 'M' being on then off.

You do have Moss-TRI too? Or do you have Solo-TRI? You don't specifically mention the board you have (and some people incorrectly call Solo 'Moss').
Just to be clear, if you have Solo, you need OS v2.4.1 as Solo is not recognised by OS 3.x.x.
Only Moss needs OS v3.
However if you do have Moss-TRI and the correct OS to go with it, I had the exact same issue as you about a year ago - in that the Trinity started not seeing the Moss-TRI or M-bank whenever I booted it up, when previously it was working fine and that I hadn't changed anything. I feared the Moss board might have died or something and that it could no longer be recognised.
I simply opened the Trinity and wiggled all the cable connectors, making sure all the cables were correctly seated, and hey presto the Moss was recognised again.

PBS-TRI is fine with Trinity v3.
I have Moss-TRI and PBS-TRI working well on OS v3.1.2
