Casio Groovebox - electribe 2 competition?

Casio just announced they are entering the groovebox market (!) with a red Milennium Falcon-shaped all-in-one with sampling, drums, synths, effects, and sequencing - priced the same as the electribe 2.
Any interest, or is this a silly toy that will bomb and become a forum punchline?
Google that XW-PD1 Groove Center if you have not already seen it.
Roland started the insanity in the 1996 with the MC-303, eventually bloating themselves to extinction with expensive or confusing units. The EMX was the last pure groovebox, and the groove sun was setting - then suddenly a new electribe and a few months later, Casio jumping into the game.

Even if it's the best groove box ever it will probably have the same faith as the Beat Thang

Oh Wow! WHO styled that?...
And can I have some of what They'd had?!!
I don't care how good it sounds or how easy it is to use, it's just TOO UGLY for words!

Ugly?!? The thing looks awesome!

Kinda like the Millennium Falcon, as several have pointed out.

Looks like the top of a toilet seat.

Supposedly, there is no limit to what you can set the bpm to. This correlates with their circular 16 beat design, so with a fast enough tempo you can actually leave this galaxy!

That reminds me of that old Casio ad from the 80's:

"This isn't just a synthesizer, OH NO, it's a ROCKER LAUNCHER."

I don't mind the looks, although it reminds me of early 2000's design. The loud red bothers me though. I hope that dj unit is actually a portable skratch machine.

It just looks awkward to use IMO, and why shape it EXACTLY like a well known spaceship?

Hey, you should never judge a book by it's cover but... that looks sh*t. I bet it sounds fantastic though. And i bet it changes patterns smoothly too.
I'll buy it in an instant if one of the preset sounds is "Hyperdrive Failing To Engage"

If that was packaged in an Elektron style box, I would be very intrigued. But that thing is so ugly, and I can't afford a Wookie to co-pilot.
