Buying Kronos 2 at Guitar Center= Bad experience in US

Post by benny ray »

I have did business at GC for a long time but Sam Ash gave me a great quote so I give quote to GC you know they do the price match thing so GC says they will beat price by a few dollars and agreed to a deal and later in the week Sam Ash beats GC quotes so I called GC and told them I would like to purchase keyboard and he said to bring quote and I did and the salesman at GC said the quote was not real and he could not do the deal that they were changes made in policy and was very rude and he said why should I cut the price when the keyboard has not been released that was the real reason for not doing the deal in my opinion. He was unprofessional to say the least plus I think he called Sam Ash and tried to blow up the deal that I had originally had with Sam Ash. I think the pricematch policy changes from time to time if they think they are not going to make any money on the deal. So I ordered the Kronos 2 today from Sam Ash and they were professional and told the truth about the fiasco which I had to deal with GC. I am sure other people have had bad experiences before but for me Sam Ash in Atlanta, GA has a better deal if u are going to buy the Kronos 2 without all the hassle and drama and free delivery to my door

I would hope that they have a policy that allows them to make money and refuse deals if they feel they'd lose on them. Otherwise they'd be out of business quickly. It sounds as if you made them duck under Sam Ash's original offer, then went back to Sam Ash with that number and got an even lower offer, then expected GC to match that again or go under?
How would anyone ever make any money if they'd accept that. If they'd matched or gone 5 bucks under, would you have gone back and forth again?

I don't live in the US so I can't comment on the quality of GC from experience. But from this story it seems entirely legitimate business practice. I'm sorry they were rude to you though. And I hope you enjoy your purchase! The Kronos is a great board :)

Buying Korg Kronos 2 at Guitar Center= Bad Experience in US

NO SanderXpander I think u are not understanding correctly in short they never sold the keyboard for the quote that they told me in person and I called before I went to purchase keyboard and he said he would do the deal and when I got there he did not know nothing about keyboards to put it bluntly and thought it was in stock. I have no problem with him not doing the deal but do not say u can do the deal and when I show in person with money u look at whatever your policy is and change it after u commited to a certain price does that make sense. I think you had a misunderstanding of situation but I agree its your right to refuse a deal but do not commit and then change your mind later when u figure u may or may not make a certain amount of money on deal. If you and I agree to a price that I am selling a keyboard to you and you show up with the money and I said I could not sell it for that price after I just got off the phone with you would u not feel violated? Maybe the picture is clearer now and I am sure you have a better understanding . I am not a fan of giving a price on phone and I show up to buy and you change the price or do not follow with what you said. I am sure everybody would wanna be treated with respect and agree to keep my word as I keep my word I sold a keyboard last week but when the person showed with the money I did not sell the keyboard cause I thought I could get more money I agree to a certain price and honor that price but they may do things different where you are from just saying.

I agree completely, if he agreed to the deal on the phone and then not when you showed up in person, that's very bad business. I misunderstood your original post. Again, enjoy your Kronos! It should prove much more inspiring than the purchase did :)

Purchasing Korg Kronos 2at Guitar cCenter = BAD EXPERIENCE

Post by benny ray »

SanderXpander I thought u would agree the only problem I had was that he agree to the deal on phone and when I got there he did not want to match the deal which is no big deal but I just wasted a lot time when I should have purchased from Sam Ash from the start but its all cool now it will be around late February when it arrives supposedly. I got lucky and sold my Kronos X88 for what about what I am getting for the Kronos 2 but I got to have the Berlin Grand Piano sounds marvelous on videos that I have seen but I also heard the RH3 keybed is a little bit softer and does not have the mechanical noises but will see soon

Honestly, it would be easier to understand your posts if you would A: take a breath; B: use this thing called punctuation.
