Sequencer Playback Question

As an amateur keyboardist I have been enjoying playing my Krome and editing the programs and combinations. I had a need come up to record some measures and play them back to troubleshoot a buzz/rattle in a speaker.

I watched the Sequencer video tutorial and read that part of the user manual. I recorded a few measures but have not had any success at playing them back. When I hit Play I see the Play button flash. The Measure display increments on the main display, but I don't hear anything. I cannot tell if the Song has any content.

By the way, while I'm recording, the music sound is much lower than while playing normally. I am not using any MIDI cables. Just Audio between the Krome and my amplifier.

Is there some setup/routing configuration I'm overlooking?

Thanks much. - Dave

Hi Dave

Read the parameter guide carefully.... the global setting controls whether the sequencer data plays to the internal tone generator, or external midi devices.

Similarly, combis and songs have per-track settings for how track data is played back.... its essential to understand midi channels and how the sequencer routes data in order for playback to work.

With all that said.... use the piano roll to check that you have indeed recorded to the track you think you've recorded to.

Some of the volume loss could be missing effects. Check to see that the effects for individual instruments are reset -- I know you lose and must select/restore them when you go from program to combi; I think the same holds true for program to sequence, and combi to sequence, though there may be some quick copy shortcuts in the pull down menus that would speed this process.

Things like compression, amp, eq, exciter can add substantially to the perceived overall volume.
