I would like to know if there is a way to determine what combi was used to write a sng file.

A few years ago I used a combi and made an on-board recording and saved the resulting sng file.

I can now load the file and play it back in SEQ, but I would like to know what combi I used originally. I can not find that info in any of the pages.

Is there a way to find out which combi I used?

Bump

I am sure this is a simple procedure?

No easy way. The song file does not store a reference to the original combi.

The setup in seq mode is different fromt the setup in combi Mode. You can copy a combi to seq mode but it is just a copy.
You will have to compare the sounds and other setting.
Maybe the PCB-tools might help you find the combi.

PCG Tools cannot do this directly, but it might help you:
- Search in the song for a barely used program (thus not I-A000 grand, but another one you think is not used many times in other combis).
- Make within PCG Tools a list containing for each combi which programs are used (in the List Generator); It's called Combi Content List, use long layout (hope I have the words correctly; I don't have the app here).
- Search for the program ID... you can check manually if the other timbres are equal to the SNG file.

Note: you also can make a reference list, that might make the list smaller, but you cannot see timbre details.
