CC midi signal to change pattern on the electribe emx2?

My electribe2 lousy patterns and stuff | KORG gear: NTS-1, nanoKEY2, electribe2/2S, WS/SR, WS/EX (on storage)
I'm the Jim Fiive who posted that on FB. Electribe's pattern numbers are mapped to midi program number. Program number 0 is pattern 1, program number 1 is pattern 2 and so on.Poumtschak wrote:I believe Tarekith also got it on FB :

One thing I found out was that the Electribe doesn't respond to bank message. At least not from my Octatrack sequencer.
What happens is when you are on patterns above 128, Electribe will change to pattern 129 to 256 when you send program number 0 to 127. Something you should be aware of when you are setting up your pattern changes from the external sequencer.
Thanks Jim for clearing that up. Great tip to know!jim555 wrote:I'm the Jim Fiive who posted that on FB. Electribe's pattern numbers are mapped to midi program number. Program number 0 is pattern 1, program number 1 is pattern 2 and so on.Poumtschak wrote:I believe Tarekith also got it on FB :

Program Changes: Ableton -> E2
I'm trying to get a program change to happen via Ableton to the Electribe 2. I've tried firing a midi clip in session and arrangement view, but it won't change the pattern on the E2. My midi pref is set to receive midi on the E2. I'm stumped...

I did this. I've tried different pgm numbers. I have ableton playing the E2 on 16 separate midi channels and have tried clips on different channels, but the pattern doesn't change. The note data transfers just fine though, so I know it's receiving midiPureSecksPirate wrote:You are looking for a program change. In your midi clip, go to your "notes" tab and there is a window with "pgm --". Click on that and type in the number that corresponds with the pattern on your electribe2.
Program Changes: Ableton -> E2
I figured it out. In order for the program change to happen on the E2, the midi channel outputting from ableton must match the global midi channel on the E2. This can be set on p.4 of the global parameters on the E2.
