I've got a pair of those:

I went to Guitar Center to buy Rockit, then the salesman suggested the JBL.
After some research I bought them with no regrets.

Apart from Behringer, you can buy anything..
Recommended
1. Monkey Banana Gibbon
2. Rokit G3 K8
3. Mackie HR 624 or 824 (if you have more budget)
4. Alesis Mk.1 active
5. JBL LSR

I have the earlier square version of the rocket 5 and I can say they do not do justice to the low end of the Kronos. I use some qsc K10 to or DT880 pro headphones to listen to my Kronos. The RP5 might be ok if you include a sub.

I actually don't mind the Behringer Truth series. They're by no means the best but you, as usual, you get a lot of speaker for the money. Certainly I would pick them over the OPs original suggestion.

richyrich, considering your name, how much would you be willing to spend?
As Sander, I don't think your original choice will sound too great with the Kronos.
I ask because there are speakers out there, which cost a bit more than the Rokits above (though they won't cost you an arm and a leg), and sound considerably better.

I agree with Sander on this one - the Behringer Truth monitors pretty much do what a studio monitor is supposed to to do, and for a lot less money than the competition...jimiki is just repeating the same old Behringer putdown that might have been valid some years ago...

The Equator D5s are about the best sub-$1k monitors I've ever heard. One of the best purchases I've ever made.

Personally, I absolutely love the PreSonus Sceptre 8's, along with a PreSonus Tremblor T-10.
You set your HPF on the sub and you will get an incredible set of reference monitors that do not "color" the sound.

Behringer bought Turbosound or the rights to their speaker tech. And those are certainly worth listening to.
I use M-Audio BX8s and they are quite good. Nice bass response without a sub. For $199 usd they were a great deal.

I use KRK Rokit 6's Rev. 3.
Best bang for buck monitors I have ever used, and I've been through many.

I've recently acquired a pair of Presonus Eris e5 monitors. They really are great value for money!

I agree 100%. I've had a pair for about ten years now. Check out the Presonus Eris as well. I've heard great things about them too.
