Korg m3 factory sounds got deleted
Hey I was thinking in getting a m3 module online but the factory sounds got deleted completely and the OS needed to be loaded on it. How can I get back the factory sounds and the OS??

If you only need to restore the factory presets you can do that without reinstalling the OS. Go to Global Mode and select Load Preload/Demo Data from the menu. Then select All Preload PCG and Demo Songs from the drop down and press OK.
If you need to update the OS you can download it from the support section on Korgs website. There will be instructions included there.

What Bald Eagle said.
To be clear - the OS and the Factory data are two very different things.
Unless you're getting a message to reinstall the OS for some reason, corrupt or missing OS is not an issue that comes up very often at all and I wouldn't mess with it.
On the other hand, the data for voices and settings; a .PCG (for program-combination-global) is something that will disappear with things like a battery change, user initialization or intended or accidental overwrites. All the voices in Korg synths like M3 are volatile; there are no carved-in-stone presets as with Yamaha or Roland synths. Korg assumes you know what you want and what you don't.
The ROM (read only [non-volatile] memory) holds baseline samples in M3's internal memory as building blocks for sounds. The reset routine will use those to make sounds to fill most of the program and combi banks. There will be some blank INIT files for your own stuff. Any subsequent changes you make can be saved to a custom user (you) .PCG file that can save some of the data or everything. And again its your choice.
Generally speaking, the .pcg files are pretty robust (they have to be) and you have to try in order to mess them up or lose them, so once they're re-installed using the re-set Bald Eagle outlined you should have no further problems.
Good luck,
BB
