Electribe 2 - Modulations

Hi,

I am trying to wrap my head around the modulations but I'm not getting anywhere. Maybe someone can help me.

If I use the EG+ or EG- modulation sources I assume the Envelope Generator to be the source of my modulation.
. Does the EG has to be turned on, i.e. does the Button Amp EG has to be lit?
. Why does the SPEED-Button has any function in this mode? I control the Envelope with the ATTACK and DECAY/RELEASE-Button so the SPEED-Button should do nothing.
. Why does the modulation source exists in a BPM-Variant? Same problem, my modulation source is my Envelope Generator and he has nothing to do with BPM.

The LFOTri Modulation sources (25-30) get triggered with every note. But in the parameter sheet is written that they do not get triggered from BPM or Key Sync. Why is it like this?

Hi,

The enveloppe for EG+ and EG- is different from the amp EG, and they are completely independant.
Modulation env is simple AD (attack-decay), and speed is the decay time (attack is almost instantaneous).
For BPM sync versions, max decay is 64 steps, and it is sync, so if you change your pattern's tempo, decay will be the same number of steps all the time.
For free version, decay time is a fixed time (max decay is very long !).

And LFOTri does not retrigger, but LFOTriB does !

Some on-screen visual feedback would be really handy for this.

Any of the modulation sources with "B" in the name (stands for BPM sync) will retrigger with note on FWIW.

Hi
I am still confussed to the signal flow with modulations. What does the + and - reference?
Does the modulation source have its own EG that say controls the filter?

+ and - are for positive or negative modulation polarity. If you're filter cutoff is at 64 and you use + modulation, it will raise the cutoff above 64, if you use - modulation, it will lower the cutoff for instance.

The EG in the mod section is seperate from the EGs on the front panel, but is only a simple AD EG.

Thank you,That has helped a lot.
After having a good play on it last night i managed to sort a lot of my issues out. :D
