Not using power switch on back of kronos?

The rear of my Kronos 2 (when it arrives) won't be accessible as it will be slightly under a monitor bridge. Do you see any harm in turning the Kronos on and off from the power outlet instead? My current controller, Kurzweil PC3X doesn't have an issue with this.

I can't forsee any issue - I've done this with my Triton Extreme quite a lot, but can't say I've ever done it with the Kronos. Perhaps make sure you've got a surge protector on the plug just to be double sure?

Honestly, I wouldn't foresee it being an issue, however... Power draw from other items on the power bar at the same time might be a concern. If you have a bunch of items drawing power simultaneously, I would be concerned about undervoltage. I personally wouldn't feel comfortable having a $4000+ instrument in this kind of loop, but to each their own.
Maybe dedicate a power bar to the Kronos, and keep any other power drawing appliances on a different power rail?

If the Kronos doesn't have some sort of soft start on the power switch I can't see it being a problem.

I've been turning my Kronos 61 of and on from the power outlet since I bought it almost 3 years ago. Almost never use the switch on the back.

My K is sharing the same outlet with powered monitors and several smaller devices for 2 years. I turn them on and off simultaneously.

mine (along with everything else in my gigging rig) is controlled from a Furman in my rack. I leave everything powered on and use the switch on the Furman. I've been doing this for at least 18 months now and have had zero problems.

I have an early Kronos from 2011. I have never turned the power switch off. Always power on through a Furman like Jeebustrain. Have had no issues.

I also run everything through a Furman power conditioner. It's really the smartest $50-$75 you can spend on equipment.
Plus, you can turn on/off your entire rig from it...so it makes having one super-convenient as well.
