Has anyone figure out a way to use both the mic input and the line in input at the same time on a KP3+?

I don't think you can.

The best workaround would be to sample the incoming line signal, then switch over to the mic (assuming that goes with your setup/music flow )

Yeah, it wouldn't as much. The sampling time on the KP isn't long enough to record all the various things going on.

2 possible ways:
1) Easy way: use external mixer with MIC.
2) DIY hardware mod: Use the schematic and remove the Mic/Line switch, as Mic is mono.
If directly linked to stereo Line-in will make all mono, so add two 1k Ohm resistor or stereo potmeter 50k Ohm in both MIC mono L/R lines to stereo Line-in. So stereo Line will stay stereo but because the passive resistor mono mixing will cause Line L/R crosstalk and stereo stage will be smaller.
Only by adding an active stereo opamp to MIC out will separate the mono L/R into stereo-mono L/R output to the Line L/R will eliminate crosstalk.
