What triggers the MIDI CC106, TouchPad On/Off on the e2?

Perhaps my midiPal monitor is missing it because it is followed quickly by some other CC but I can't find what sends CC106, TouchPad On/Off, which is listed in the MIDI implementation at the back of the electribe2's user manual.
Anyone have any idea what triggers this CC106 control change?

I will try a couple of tests later today. There are a few of apps I use on iOS to check and manipulate some of the CCs on my devices.
UPDATE:
It looks as if you have to send CC 106 with value 127 to turn on the x/y pad and then CC 102 and CC 103 for the position. And when you want to turn it off, you need to send CC 106 again with 0. You need to make sure that you are sending on the right MIDI channel and that your MIDI filter for receive on the electribe is set to off.

Thanks Telengard, but I was trying to find out what button/action on the electribe2 sends the MIDI Control Change 106 (Touchpad On/Off) to external gear.
I found the answer but I am not sure if miniPal missed it or it is such a specific case where the CC is sent that I may not have tested that combination of buttons. Anyhow ...
I hooked up a Windows tablet running midiox to the e2 and found that the e2 sends cc106(6A in hex) when you touch and let go of the touchpad - but only when the Master FX button is lit by itself. It is not sent when the MFX Hold light is also on or in the trigger modes.
I don't know what use this will be but there you go ...

I know things seriously, and also know the other part of this on the web.

Interesting, I will check that out as I didn't try switching the MFX button. That kinda sucks if you can't force it. I was using a MIDI app on my iPad to trigger it. I will have to try it again.

I don't know if this is any help atall, but on the KP3 this command will restart any loop being played (plus re trigger an LFOs phase). So if you bypass this by just sending X&Y midi commands then the effect is a continuous movement with out any restarting, just changing of params. So a LFO speed could change or loop length, smoothly, without restarting (abit like legato or key sync off).Try this on some Beat rearranging/loop effects or LFOs to look for differences.

It may not be very important on E2 as its disabled for you anyway ,when Hold is on (as you researched).different to the KP. I don't know..
What ever it does,it's telling the effect when you tap on and off the pad.At least the phase of LFO.See if you get any joy with the beat loopers.
