Kontrol Editor Limitation question

Post by pblais »

Hi,
My name is Pierre. I am not new to the nanoxx world but fairly new to this forum.
I have a nanoKontrol2 (and a nanoPad2). I want to use the nanoKontrol to make program changes in my Yamaha Motif Rack-XS tone generator.
My dilemma is this. I need to be able to send multi byte MIDI messages to the device.
The nanoKontrol does that in DAW mode. When I push one button or move one slider while monitoring MIDI traffic, I see that the nanoKontrol does just that. It sends out multi MIDI messages.
But when I fire up the Kontrol Editor, I can only change the values of the buttons in CC mode which only allows me to enter in one CC message.
Is there any way to assign values to buttons and sliders in the editor to make each button send more than one one message just like it does in DAW mode?

EDIT: I also have a nanoPad2 if that would be a better unit to use.

Also, here is the sequence I am trying to send

B0 00 3F (bank select MSB = 3F)
B0 20 01 (bank select LSB = 1)
C0 0C (program change = 0C)

As I mentioned above, I have seen these "multi line" messages being sent by the various button/sliders when in DAW mode

Thank you in advance
Pierre
