Hello,

since one week I noticed a gap in the kronos board on the left side, near the pitchbend. I don't know if it was there before, at least I didn't notice. Does any of you have this problem, or is this problem known by Korg?

I don't know if I should bring it to a service point. They did a repair on the fan when I just bought it but I had to do without the kronos for 4 weeks, but at the moment I need it every weekend for gigs so that is not an option.

The gap appears to be a little more than usual, probably the end cheek isn't sitting correctly, either from new or following the recent repair work.
It may have been bumped during the event,or earlier.
Usually there would be no need to remove these ends for internal access as they are captive(fastened) to the frame body,so I doubt the service center tampered with them directly.

So,if it's free of any splits, secure and doesn't bother you during play, perhaps best to leave it for a later date for correction,if you decide to do so.

Yes, mine has a gap there too. I had to dismantle my Kronos to replace the Internal - C Bank selector switch. This involved removing the Keybed to get at the PCB. When I reassembled it, I noticed the gap but I was not able to fit the Endplate close enough to get rid of the gap.I put it down to poor tolerances in the fabrication. The only Korg synth I have worked on that stayed in one piece when the bottom is removed is the M1. All the others fall to bits when you start to take them apart (especially the Tritons), there is only the bottom plate holding the keyboard in.

Thanks for the reply, I think I will let it as is and when the gap is getting to big I will fix it myself or a service centre. Just nice to know I'm not the only one :?
