Receiving midi commands

I am trying to send some NRPN commands to my PA600 using a computer program. I have set the control channel in global midi-in tab.

It receives the sound on commands and make sounds, but does not respond to NRPN commands.

Is there a way in PA600 to view the midi commands it receives via the USB cable.

Thanks experts...

I use the control channel when I want the keyboard to use the chords I'm sending it for style control.

I wouldn't think you have to use the control channel to send midi controls, like reverb and volume cc's should work for whatever channel you send them to. I would think.

Quite a complex midi setup inside the 600.

What are you wanting it to do?

Basically I am trying to select song book entries thru an external computer program. As per the Korg reference manual, it is possible and need to send NRPN command followed by the song entry number (As Control change commands) over the control channel.

So it would be nice to see if there is a way to check at the PA600's end what is the midi command it receives (as I am confident about the other end)

I think it is not possible to view midi-commands Pa600 receives.

If you want to send NRPN commands to select songbook-entries it is more important to use correct format of NRPN, correct channels and settings too.

Correct format of NRPN to select sb-entry: CC98 = 02, CC99 = 64, CC6 = TH (00-99), CC38 = ZE (00-99); for example you send
CC98=02/CC99=64/CC6=12/CC38=34 you get songbook-entry 1234; if you send CC98=02/CC99=64/CC6=00/CC38=01 you get songbook-entry 0001.

If you send your NRPN-commands using a computer-programm it is important to use same midi-channels for transmission
(midi-out-pc-channel-nr = midi-in-Pa600-channel-nr set as Control-channel).

Select correct format, also identic channel-numbers of PC-midi-out and Pa600-Midi-in and set this midi-in-channel to "Control" so Pa600 will receive NRPNs for remotely selection of sb-entries.
