Are those the new sounds that are included in the new version of the editor? Can they be loaded in the Kronos x? Titled NewKRONOS_Preload.SQS located in the Sound Quest folder of your Documents folder.

what does the editor manual say ?

I tried with some success.
Now I have all the progs and combis of the Kronos 2 on my Kronos, but of course, the Berlin , and the other addons libraries are missing ...
But you can have new sounds in this way

Seams to take an awfully long time to transmit the entire set to the Kronos. Talking in hours here. Why would it be so much more complicated than a simple PCG transfer?

hours would definitely not be right. About 5 minutes would be normal.

Are you using a Mac by any chance? In some Mac OSs there is a flaw in USB MIDI transfers where the OS actually transfers SysEx data at MIDI speeds instead of USB speeds. The result is that a complete transfer requires, yes, hours.

In this case, the only solution is a Mac OS upgrade.

Do it one by one.

Nope, a Windows 7 machine.

Then the only other thing that explains the delay is that after the sending of each voice, the program waits for an ACK back from the instrument to verify that the data has been received. Because the editor can be used with standard MIDI ports, the time out waiting for the ACK is based on MIDI speeds. If the Kronos doesn't send back an ACK then that would also account for the delay.

Are you able to receive data from the Kronos?
What basic channel is the Kronos set to?
If you open the Monitor subwindow, are you able to see the editor and Kronos communicating back and forth at start-up?

Make sure you're using usb midi.

I'm trying to access the new sounds in the editor but cannot find NewKRONOS_Preload.SQS in the documents file - only KRONOS_Preload.SQS.
Is there a different editor download for the Kronos 2 ?

Wow! Looks like Korg removed the newkronos_preload sqs file from the Editor.

I had a feeling that it was an unintentional gift.

I don't know how good the Berlin piano is, but in my opinion the 80's patches aren't worth $250, if that is all you want. To me, $50 would be a fair price for just the patches, if Korg were to unbundled them from the Berlin piano.

On a side note, does anyone have instructions on how to correct the "bad" notes of some of the 80's sequence patches? I understand why they had to be intentionally wrong, but it would be nice to include a document with step by step instructions on how to fix them, no?

It's pretty simple... Just go into the LFO that's running the sequence, and adjust the note values in the section on the right. I had "Save a Prayer" corrected in a minute or two.

If a kind soul would send me or share a link to a dropbox location for the new kronos patches, I'd be grateful. I apparently downloaded the software too late and missed the Kronos2 preload data set. I have only the default load set.
