newbie question

Post by joshhuntnm »

I am trying to create a combi from scratch.

I get a piano on track 1, guitar on track 2. I go to put strings on track 2 and do it the same way, but I don't hear anything.

Are you editing an already pre programed combi,or are you starting from scratch?

If you are using an initialized combi track 2 is probably set to midi channel 2. On the P3: Timbre Param page set the midi channel to Gch. You should be able to hear that track layered with track 1. You can then set the zone to split the keyboard if that's what you are going for.

1. Go to [global] page by pressing the [global] button

2. Press menu & select MIDI

3. Set the global midi channel to the channel you want to hear.

Default Combis set all 16 tracks to piano, with each track as a MIDI channel numbered by its track (1 through 16). To hear the other tracks, you'll need to set their MIDI channel to 01G, or play them with your global channel set to match (2 through 16).

They do this because there technically isn't an "OFF" for a channel.
