ES2 sample memory

So I got round to slicing up a .wav of Kicks. Worked pretty well, but I have a question and wonder if anyone knows the answer or can tell me how to check?

So, after slicing the .wav on the ES2, I have access to the multiple Kicks, but does each slice count towards a sample memory slot? Or is it just the original .wav I imported that takes up the slot?

Would be sweet to load the sampler with tons of different hits & use only a handful of sample slots.

Shift + record gets you in the sampling menu.. From there scroll over a couple screens and you can see how much memory is left.

Thanks I didn't know that.

Well I opened the e2sSample.all in the electribe sample manager and no additional slices were part of the slots, so looks like the ES2 is just adding slicing data to the original sample.

So if you don't want to import a ton of hits into multiple slots then bunch them into a .wav and start slicing.

Can slices be looped? If so one could theoretically pack a a loooot of single cylce waveforms. For example: http://www.adventurekid.se/akrt/wavefor ... waveforms/
These are 4300 samples and only around 6 MB.

slices can be looped

How do you loop slices? I went into the menu and the only option I can see is to loop the original sample itself, how do I access the slice properties?

Cheers

I agree with troxx, as soon as a sample is sliced, the loop menu disappears for the sample and the slices. As far as I see this, you either have a normal sample, a loop or a time sliced. The time sliced behave like a normal sample but you can trigger individual slices.
Therefor my idea with single cycle packing into one sample doesnt work.

Actually, a tiny bit of each slice is automatically looped at the end of the slice to prevent choppy playback at higher-then-original tempo or higher pitches. I figured out a way to do exactly what you describe on the ESX, with a .wav file packed with synth waves, and I am currently working on perfecting it on the ES2. I will upload a video describing the process when I get it right.

PS.. Here is my video describing the process on the ESX. If you watch it you may be able to work along these lines on the ES2 and help me perfect the process: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sE-Wq0MqqCQ

Fantastic trick. Did you get it to work? Is it still 1/32 of a second that is looped at the end of each slice that is looped for the E2S?
Basically I need to put synth waves with the length of 1/32 of a second in my sample file?
